SOUTHFIELD COMMUNITY FOR GROWTH COALITION

OUR FOUR PILLARS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

1. Ethical Governance

We believe integrity is the foundation of effective leadership. Ethical governance means every decision and action taken by public officials must serve the public interest—not private or political gain. Our coalition works to promote policies and practices that ensure honesty, fairness, and responsibility at every level of city government.
Our focus: Upholding ethical standards, preventing conflicts of interest, and ensuring that Southfield’s leaders act with transparency and integrity in all decisions.

2. Transparency

Transparency builds trust. Our coalition advocates for open access to public information, clear communication of city policies, and timely reporting on financial and development decisions. We work to ensure residents can see how resources are allocated, who benefits, and how decisions are made.
Our focus: Demanding open meetings, published reports, accessible data, and a culture of honesty where residents are kept informed—not left in the dark.

3. Community-Led Decision Making

True democracy begins at the local level. We champion the power of residents to shape policies, ordinances, and plans that directly impact their neighborhoods. Through public engagement, education, and organizing, we ensure that community voices—not political insiders—drive Southfield’s growth and development.
Our focus: Creating pathways for resident input, supporting public participation at every city meeting, and organizing around shared priorities for housing, economic development, and quality of life.

4. Responsible Stewardship of Public Resources

Every tax dollar, public asset, and development project must serve the collective good. We hold city officials accountable for transparent budgeting, equitable investment, and ethical contracting practices. Responsible stewardship means protecting Southfield’s resources today so they can sustain our community tomorrow.
Our focus: Monitoring public spending, promoting fair contracting with local small businesses, and ensuring that economic growth benefits residents—not just developers.

Get Involved — This is Your City.

The next four years are critical. City Council and Charter Review decisions will shape Southfield for decades. The only way to make sure residents have power is to show up—consistently and together.
We’re mobilizing 20–50 residents to attend every City Council meeting starting December, and we need your voice at the table.

Together, we can rebuild public trust and make Southfield stronger
