To unite residents, stakeholders, and community leaders in advancing ethical governance, transparency, community-led decision-making, and responsible stewardship of public resources in Southfield. We exist to ensure that city leadership is accountable to the people, that decisions reflect community priorities, and that public trust is restored through consistent civic engagement and oversight.

We envision a thriving, inclusive city where every voice matters and every decision reflects the will and wellbeing of the community.
Our Story
The Southfield Community for Growth Coalition was born out of a simple but powerful idea — that our city belongs to the people who live in it.

In 2024, as residents began raising concerns about a lack of transparency and accountability in local decision-making, a small group of community leaders came together to ask a bigger question: What would it look like if the people of Southfield led the conversation about Southfield’s future?

That question sparked a movement. What started as neighbors meeting around kitchen tables has grown into a citywide coalition focused on ensuring ethical governance, transparent leadership, and community-led decision-making.

We show up—not as critics, but as collaborators—ready to hold leadership accountable while working toward solutions that benefit everyone. Our commitment is long-term: we aim to have a visible presence at every City Council meeting, advocate for sound policies, and empower residents to understand how government works and how their voices can shape it.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about people. It’s about reclaiming our collective power to make Southfield stronger, more transparent, and more equitable for generations to come.
